Weddings

I am not a wedding DJ, but I am a DJ who loves weddings - what girl doesn't love weddings.  But the fact that you get a whole group of family and friends together to celebrate all night long is my idea of an amazing time.

How much should I budget for a DJ?

According to Industry professionals, allotting 10% of your budget towards your music entertainment is the norm.  If your budget is close to the National Average of $30K, 10% roughly the price of a tip is reasonable cost for something so impactful to the overall experience at your wedding.  If you are doing it on a budget and closer to a $12K spend, you can do things to trim your entertainment budget like hiring the DJ just for the Reception to help keep you in line with budget.

However you do it, remember DJs set the tone and energy of an event and entertainment from the wedding party walking down the aisle until the last dance.  The experience of the people attending and joy in celebration with a soundtrack to match is something that will last longer than almost anything else you will spend money on that day.  Having a great DJ will bring that experience to you and your guests from start to finish letting you be carefree dancing the night away.
